I'm Sadie Smith. Nominations are open for the Farmington Chamber of Commerce's. Best of Farmington Awards. The Chamber invites locals to recognize individuals and organizations that have positively impacted the community. The Chamber will give awards to Farmington's Business of the Year, citizen of the Year, and Nonprofit of the Year. Nominees and winners will be announced at the Farmington Chamber Banquet on Friday, January 30th at the Farmington Civic Center. To make a nomination, fill out a survey on Go farmington.com. The Dave and Friends Polar Plunge at Farmington Lake returns for its fifth year on Thursday, January 1st. Each year, the event raises funds for a local nonprofit. This year's proceeds will benefit Theater Ensemble Arts to participate, meet at Farmington Lake at 11:30 AM and be ready to take the plunge at noon. The City of Farmington seeks artist applicants for the 2026. 2027 Art in the Heart. Downtown Sculpture. Exhibit up to 25 sculptures will be selected for display on Farmington's historic Main Street. All selected pieces must be available for purchase. The application is open to artists from New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. Selected artists will receive a $1,000 honorarium after the installation out of town. Artists also will receive two nights of complimentary lodging. Applications are due on Saturday, January 31st. Downtown coordinator Karen Lupton says The sculptures bring character to Main Street and encourage both residents and visitors to explore.
