Farmington area residents came out in droves to the highly anticipated Riverglo Christmas celebration at Berg Park. The glowing holiday spirit displayed by 2000 farolitos along the Animas River Walk did not disappoint. You're watching the Local News Network brought to you by Sunray Park and Casino and Express Employment Professionals, I'm Wendy Graham Settle. Sponsored by the nonprofit River Reach Foundation, The annual Riverglo featured live nativity scenes, Christmas choir music and free warm cups of cocoa. Mother and daughter Francie Lee and Abigayle Hawkins enjoyed portraying Joseph and Mary.

And it's a tradition with our church, we go to Northside Church of Christ, and it's a way to share the message of Jesus and Christmas to the community in a way that is interactive and live and maybe a little more relevant for the kids to see, been doing it for a long time.

I have a better, more of an impact than just reading from the Bible, the story of it so you can actually see and be able to picture and understand the implications of the whole story of how things were.

Brooke Fisk, also a member of Northside Church of Christ played a simple shepherd, albeit a pretty one.

We're just happy we can be out here with everything that's been happening, we didn't get to come last year with COVID so happy to see everybody this year.

Students from Hermosa Middle School helped set up the many farolitos by filling paper bags with sand in exchange for endless complimentary pizza.

We're being angel for the live nativity that Jesus was born on Christmas

And eating lots of pizza.

Do angels like pizza?

It's heaven so.

In addition to all the beautiful lights, costumes, and donkeys, the sweet sound of Christmas music made the night truly magical.

We really enjoyed the music of Christmas, that's a big highlight for us.

We make it a tradition to go caroling in our neighborhood. We've been doing it for 20, 30 years back.

Oh my goodness, a long time.
