A world renowned shadow dance company will perform in Farmington this December. The City of Farmington invites community members to celebrate the new Pinyon Hills Boulevard extension and experience a mix of tradition and innovation. I'm Sadie Smith, the internationally acclaimed Shadow Dance Group. The Silhouettes will perform light of Christmas at 7:30 PM on Friday, December 19th at the Farmington Civic Center. This family friendly show brings heartwarming holiday stories to the stage through Shadow artistry. The silhouettes were awarded second place on America's Got Talent season six in 2011 and received a golden buzzer on America's Got Talent, the Champions in 2020, which advanced them to the live performances. Tickets started $16 for students and $28 for adults to purchase tickets. Visit the Farmington Civic Center website. The City of Farmington will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the Pinyon Hills Boulevard extension on Tuesday, December 16th at noon. The project began in March, 2024. City officials say the additional connection from North Farmington to South Farmington will improve emergency response times, reduce traffic congestion, and encourage residential and commercial development. The project costs the city more than $38 million funded through the American Rescue Plan Act. The exhibit will be open through Thursday, December 18th at the Henderson Fine Art Center. Art Gallery at San Juan College. Pieces were created by the college's stained glass Encore students. Encore classes are designed for students over the age of 50, but are open to any one 18 years and older. The gallery is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
