With Thanksgiving done and dusted, we look forward to Christmas as usual. As in, the usual turkey, ham and dressing fair. Instead, impress out-of-town guests with the aromas of Thai food at Boon's Family Thai Barbecue during the holidays. You're watching the Local News Network brought to you by Express Employment Professionals and CMIT Solutions. I'm Wendy Graham Settle. With its rich creamy curries, fragrant sauces and flavorful snacks, traditional Thai food effortlessly satisfies any food lover's palette. Morey Havens, along with his Thai wife, Toya had been doing just that with Toya's recipes on Main Street in Farmington for a whopping 16 years.

Well, I think what has really made an impact on repeat customers is our consistency and our quality. We gather our ingredients not locally, but we have to either drive to Phoenix or Los Angeles typically to pick up the Thai products such as lemon grass and and Thai basal and different curries and that type of thing. So we've never compromised my wife's recipes and always have stayed consistent with that.

The couple discovered Farmington by accident while visiting relatives who'd moved here from Los Angeles.

I love Farmington very much. At first couple year I didn't like it, but now I love it. It's better than any place that I see.

Toya trains their four Thai chefs to her style with her family's cherish recipes. She's rarely in the kitchen these days, except to make her husband's favorite noodle dish and to amuse her kitchen staff.

This is what we call , okay? The noodles. So we put them noodles in with the chicken. I'm going to cook. And I'm going to steam all the vegetables. And we have a little sugar, garlic powder and vinegar. And soy sauce.

After completely shutting down for a total of seven months last year, Morey Havens is grateful to be back in business, full time with the sales up better than ever.

You know, we're just really excited about this holiday season. We really enjoy the festivities. There'll be some parades later today, downtown Farmington. And as you can see to my back, we've got a festival of trees being displayed here at the restaurant. We just feel really blessed that we are able to participate in this as a community and share in the holiday season and everything that goes along with it.

Boon's Family Thai Barbecue will be open this year on Christmas Eve, come early. To peruse the menu beforehand, or for takeout go to boonsthai.com. Thanks for watching this edition of the local news network. I'm Wendy Graham Settle.
