The city of Farmington has announced it will no longer acquire the San Juan Generating Station, and the Four Corners Home for Children, once again celebrated the holiday season with its annual drive-through Live Navajo nativity scene. The nomination process involves nominations from local coaches, a ballot ranking process and a final selection process by a committee. From the Class 4-A state champions Bloomfield, six players were nominated, Auggie Aguilar, Robert Williams, J Gutierrez, Ryan Sharpe, Jesse Seitzinger and Drew Perez. From the class 5A runners up, Piedra Vista, Kaden Peace, Xavier Lefebre, Jacob Schrueder, Zach Mora-Dotson, Jacob Ramstead and Dax Vigil. The city of Farmington announced that it will no longer pursue the acquisition of a San Juan Generating station on December 20th. The decision comes after a loss during arbitration hearings between the city and the public service company of New Mexico, or PNM, to delay the decommissioning of the facility. According to Mayor Nate Duckett, the work stated by PNM had undermined the viability of the city's plan to implement a carbon capture project at the station. On Thursday, December 22nd, the Four Corners Home for Children hosted their annual Drive-Thru Live Navajo Nativity scene. Children from the Four Corners Home for Children dressed in traditional Navajo clothing to portray Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus, the angels, shepherds, wiseman and other characters from the Christmas Story. The community was invited to drive through and experience the nativity scene. Learn more about the Four Corners Home for Children and other events that host at 4ch4c.org.
