The New Mexico Health Department issued a new health order to increase accessibility to the COVID-19 vaccination. The longest running mountain bike race in the United States returns to Farmington and celebrate the change of seasons with the Aztec Fall Festival. The New Mexico Health Department issued a new health order to ensure all New Mexico residents have access to the COVID-19 vaccine. Previously, some pharmacies could not administer the vaccine unless recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization practices. The new standing order expands access to allow qualified healthcare providers and pharmacists to administer FDA approved 2025. 2026 COVID-19 Vaccines to Patients six months or older without requiring individual prescriptions. Additional details may be found on the New Mexico Department of Health website. This year marks 44 years of racing for the Road. Apple Rally, the longest running mountain bike race in the United States. The event kicks off October 3rd with the Friday night downtown bike party from four 30 to 8:00 PM at the Farmington Civic Center. The event includes a beer garden, rider dinner, and packet pickup. On Saturday, October 4th, racers will meet at the Sandstone Amphitheater at Lions Wilderness Park at 7:00 AM the race follows a single track loop through the Glade Run recreation area with the option of a 15 or 30 mile loop, as well as a four and a half mile sprint race. For children or beginner racers, cash prizes for the pro division will be awarded to first through fifth place. Finishers trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each division of Junior Open Masters and distinguished writers. For registration and additional details of visit farmington.org Fall is in the air and the Aztec Fall Festival is right around the corner On Saturday, October 11th, celebrate the autumn season with a parade Live music and car show. The parade begins. The festival at 9:00 AM on Main Avenue in Aztec, followed by the car show at Minim Park. The event will feature more than 100 cars, 80 artisan vendors, local food trucks, live music by Julie and the boys and a Corn Hole tournament. This family friendly event is free.
